Winter Night Shelter
Our Lady of Good Counsel, Stoke Newington
volunteers' webpage

Our Lady of Good Counsel parish hall hosts the Hackney Winter Night Shelter every Tuesday from January to March.
The shelter is run entirely by parish and community volunteers.
During 2011 we welcomed nearly 92 people, providing shelter, food and conversation. Outreach workers were able to find accommodation for 63 of them. Warmest thanks to the 71 volunteers who made our 2011 shelter possible.
The 2012 shelter opens on Tuesday, 3rd January in the parish hall directly behind the church building.
The entrance is through the gate to the left of the main doors.
Volunteering
When our shelter is in operation, volunteers work in shifts of 2-3 hours doing a variety of tasks (setting up, cooking, befriending our guests, staying overnight, clearing up). Anyone can help. To volunteer, email - tuesday@hwns.org.uk
