Volunteers’ Week 2021 June 1-7

It’s Volunteers’ Week – a time to recognise and say thank you to our amazing volunteers.

This year marks 25 years of Hackney Winter Night Shelter which began with volunteers, and churches opening their doors, offering beds, food and hospitality to people experiencing homelessness in Hackney.

We are looking back and recognising the thousands of volunteers, churches, local groups and community organisations who, since the beginning, have helped to deliver our mission and helped people to find routes out of homelessness.

This Volunteers’ Week we will be celebrating the individual and combined contributions of volunteers who offer our guests the kindness, generosity and hospitality for which Hackney Winter Night Shelter is renowned.

From the committed teams of volunteers around the borough who serve our guests, to those who offer their professional and practical skills, to the people who get together to raise money – everyone is making a difference.
