Hackney Half runners raise £26K for the Shelter

The Hackney Winter Night Shelter running team was made up of a dedicated group of volunteers, friends and supporters, as well as one of our newest trustees and the recently retired chair of the trustees, Andrew Hudson.  Some were experienced marathon runners while others were running in a team event for the first time.

The team was co-ordinated by Courtnee Archer, our volunteer events organiser, who commented:  

“The day turned out to be perfect running conditions and a fantastic atmosphere, with 22,000 runners from many Hackney charities participating in the event.  Our enthusiastic runners raised £26k (so far) for the day, beating our target by an astonishing £9k!  We would like to thank all our amazing runners for the constant support and hard efforts.”

The Charity would like to express its immense gratitude towards every runner for their incredible effort on the day, as well as to every single person who sponsored them or donated to the cause, making this our best Hackney Half to date.
