On Friday 1st November, BBC London News visited our recently opened women’s shelter.

The news item drew attention to London’s ever increasing number of rough sleepers and the unprecedented rise in women’s homelessness.  The item featured Emma Banks, who is a (volunteer) coordinator at the women’s shelter as well as a long-serving coordinator of the Hackney Winter Night Shelter.

The presenter also spoke with one of our female guests, who explained how the women enjoy the shelter and being cared for by our volunteers.

The project is part-funded by the London Mayor’s Rough Sleeping Innovation Fund.
