On Friday 22 November party-goers gathered for a sell-out dance night with celebrated DJs, including headliner Jamie XX to raise money for Hackney Winter Night Shelter.

A magnificent £12,000 was raised on the night from ticket sales and some exceptionally generous donations.

Stuart Glen from the Cause told us:

'We opened The Cause as a way to leverage charity fundraising from amazing dance music and so very grateful that artists such as Jamie xx are on board to help us realise our goals. We can't thank Jamie, HAAi, CURL, LUCE_ and all their teams enough for making this happen. I am sure this fundraising will have a very positive impact on many people's lives. It's freezing out there right now!”

Christina Ball, Acting Director of Hackney Winter Night Shelter commented:    “We would like to thank the whole team that was involved in pulling off such a tremendously successful event.  We are so grateful for the enormous amount of time, effort and enthusiasm that went into the arrangements for this night.  Some of our volunteers also had the honour of being on the guest list and had a thoroughly enjoyable and well-deserved night out.  We intend to put the money towards making sure that local homeless people have a safe and welcoming space to stay over the winter months.”
