As the weather has turned much colder and the plight of homeless people sleeping on the streets gains more media attention, the local Hackney press has been highlighting the need to help those who are most vulnerable in our community.

The work of Hackney Winter Night Shelter has been featured in local media, including Hackney Gazette, the Hackney Citizen and East London Lines.

Our Chair, Andrew Hudson, was interviewed by the Hackney Gazette and Hackney Citizen carried a feature showing how the diverse local community comes together to make the night shelter happen every year.  Andrea Daniels, one of our Trustees, was also interviewed by East London Lines to raise awareness of the continuing challenge of homelessness.

Hackney Citizen's Leader - Home for Christmas describes how the local homelessness situation reminds us of the Christian story of "No room at the inn",  with the baby Jesus being born in a manger when there was nowhere for his family to sleep.
