Those who have supported Hackney Winter Night Shelter in years gone by will be familiar with the end of March marking the end of the winter night shelter season for another year. But now that we are a year-round shelter we will not close at the end of March 2021.

The move to operating all year round and from a single static venue where our guests can feel safe, secure and supported in their journey out of homelessness, is at the heart of the charity's new strategic plan, announced in June 2020. We have yet to find our permanent home but we were offered a temporary venue in Stoke Newington which, after a bit of a spruce-up, was opened to guests on 1st November 2020.

We will stay at our Stokey shelter throughout Summer 2021 at least, and when we need to move premises that is what we will do - simply move to another venue - where we can continue to operate all year round.

2021 is 25th anniversary of the founding of Hackney Winter Night Shelter by a group of local churches and individuals from the community. We look forward to marking the occasion later this year.

Thousands of individuals, volunteers, hosts, community groups, churches, schools, companies, funders and more have helped to deliver the charity's mission.

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH to everyone who has supported Hackney Winter Night Shelter in any way, at any time throughout our 25 year history.
