Hackney Night Shelter has been providing emergency shelter and routes out of homelessness for over 25 years. The number of homeless people has risen dramatically in recent years and continues to rise. Last year outreach teams across London met over 10,000 homeless people sleeping rough.

Now we’re asking for your support. Will you join us, just for one night, sleeping out, to help raise funds through sponsorship towards the costs of helping homeless people in Hackney?

We are inviting individuals or families or teams from local businesses, churches and other faith groups to join us on Friday 20 October in the churchyard of St John at Jerusalem, E9.There will be staff on duty through the night and we will provide soup in the evening, a commemorative hooded top and breakfast in the morning.

To ensure that all the funds raised go towards supporting homeless people we are asking for an registration fee of £20 per person. All participants will be expected to raise at least £250.

Please note that this is a fundraising initiative and in no way seeks to replicate the actual discomfort and anxiety which homeless people experience when they really do have to sleep out.
