Hackney Winter Night Shelter is run by more than 600 volunteers 

Volunteers are critical to the work we do.  Put simply, without our volunteers there would be no Hackney Winter Night Shelter.  

We welcome volunteers from all ages and backgrounds, although most live or work in Hackney this isn't a pre-requisite - just a desire to help us to help homeless people in Hackney.   Many of our volunteers have been with us for a number of years - others a matter of months.

Our community of volunteers help us to run the shelter each night, ensure we are able to run a great programme of events to raise valuable funds and provide much needed services for our guests.  

In return, we can offer you a truly rewarding experience, a chance to really make a difference to some of the most vulnerable in society and training to support you to achieve this.
