The Hackney Winter Night Shelter season runs from 1st November to 31st March.

Each night, shelter volunteers work one or more shifts to: set up at the venue, welcome guests, cook an evening meal, stay overnight, prepare and serve breakfast and, finally, pack up after helping guests have a positive start to their day.

Volunteers are vital to the work we do and we recognise and value the huge contribution they make.  In return, we offer a rewarding experience and the opportunity to contribute to combating homelessness.  Volunteers can gain experience within the homelessness sector in a positive, friendly and supportive environment.

We offer all our volunteers an induction pack and training session and we have in place a range of policies to ensure the safety and wellbeing of both guests and volunteers.
