Hackney Winter Night Shelter

Join our mailing list

Hackney Winter Night Shelter provides a hot meal and a warm bed for homeless guests who would otherwise be out on the streets during the coldest winter months.

The shelter opened on Monday 3 November 2014 and is now closed until November

During the season we work with more than 80 guests and throughout the year our link workers continue to assist them with finding more stable accommodation.

We can only do this with your support. Please donate now, become a volunteer and read our latest news.

Cheer on the HWNS runners in Run Hackney on Sunday 10 May!

We would love it if you could join our cheering group. We will have huge balloons – so we will be very spot-able – and we will be positioning ourselves around three main points.

From 9am on Sunday 10 May, we will station three main cheering teams with balloons at mile 4 (just before Lower Clapton Road turns into Dalston Lane), mile 8.5 (just before Well Street Common) and mile 12 (Olympic Park).

We’d love it if you could join us at these key points, but other cheerers dotted along the course would be wonderful, so if you’d prefer, do come and cheer wherever is close to you or your local shelter. Here is the link to the race map – click here

At the end of the race we will be meeting up with the runners at the finish line and going to a local pub or park

If you’d like to cheer for HWNS please do let us know so we can make sure we have enough people, we have 30 runners this year and really want to show them how much we appreciate their support for the shelter. You can email Charlotte at charlotteclarebeaton@hotmail.com to let us know and to receive further information on joining the fun!
